Main objective:

To promote and support democracy, principles of equal opportunities, freedom of expression, to promote inhabitants and their participation in planning and decision-making process, to develop voluntary participation in community activities and to defend citizen’s interests at local, regional and national levels

To promote sustainable community and economic development, especially through local grassroots activity and making available other appropriate resources. Community and economic development includes identification and support of leaders, organizational development and economic activities to support small and medium enterprises in rural areas. Implementation of new ideas and methods should be based on the preservation of cultural heritage

Presentation

VOKA is a civic association serving members and non-members involved in rural development. VOKA started with implementation of rural development programmes in 1997 officially was registered one year later, in August 1998.

VOKA's mission is to activate local potential and to support, through technical assistance, the sustainable and democratic development of communities for the improvement of the quality of life of rural people.
