ANIMAR is a national network of citizens and civic and solidary organizations. Gathering 69 collective organizations, it aims to promote equal opportunities in Portugal, and more precisely focuses on good living conditions for all by trying to reduce inequalities.
ANIMAR is particularly recognized on the national scale for its representativeness, its network organization and its ability to establish good relationship with public authorities. It is today present everywhere on the Portuguese territory, and works with a great diversity of actors (public authorities, associations, companies, individuals, …).
Policy analysis on the following thematic issues: territory, local development, and regional development.
Provide information on local, regional or national development: product and spread documents; organise seminars, and events.
Promote training actions and projects in management, equal opportunities or social economy for third sector organizations.
Promote equal opportunities and seek to improve people’s quality of life.
Represent the local development movement on national and international scales.
Try to unite the local development movement in Portugal, elaborate common projects, insist on communication and exchanges of experiences, for more effective representation in front of public authorities.
