The Federation of Parks coordinates the network of Parks

Created in 1971, the federation groups together all the regional natural Parks (45 in 6/5/08), regional councils and main institutional partners. It is the head of network to contribute to the sustainable development and support the national policy of the regional nature Parks. In this objective, it represents, defends the interests of Parks, insures a mission of communication and constitutes a place of exchange, training and impulse on subjects with stakes.
The regional nature Parks represent 13 % of the national territory (approximately 3700 municipalities (Communes) and constitute natural spaces, rich in their exceptional heritage. 13 % of the territories of Park are in sites " Natura on 2000 ".
They concentrate 11 % of the National Nature reserves, 1/3 of the prefectorial orders of protection of French Biotope, 10 of 24 recognized wet zones internationally (sites RAMSAR) and 5 of 7 Reserves of French Biospheres.
These territories are also places of life and work because they concentrate approximately 320 000 companies belonging to all the sectors and representing 7 % of the French economic fabric and 730 000 employees.
