The Slovenian Rural Development Network is a non-governmental organisation that was formally established on 16 October 2002 and gained legal recognition on 23 December 2002. Its mission is to bring together all those individuals and organisations who are involved, at different levels, in rural development in Slovenia. The Network's main concern is to inform and educate its members and the interested public, so that the well-being of rural people in Slovenia can be effectively pursued.
To facilitate cooperation and mutual help among individuals and organisations from the rural
To inform members and the public on all important activities regarding measures for rural development, incentives from the field and best-practice examples
To be an equal partner in the process of forming legislation and rural development policy, on behalf of the broad rural interests in SloveniaT
o ensure effective representation of rural interests and the flow of information between government and non-government bodies and from local to regional, national and international level
To provide training, counselling, and assistance in organizing local action groups (LAGs) and preparing programmes for Leader areas in Slovenia
